Buying a pool table online is easy, but delivery is where a lot of customers have questions. How does it work? What does it cost? When does it arrive, and what do you need to do when it gets there? This guide answers the lot.
Pool Table Delivery Is to Your Local Depot
Every pool table from The Ultimate Mancave is sent to a freight depot near you, and you collect it from there. At checkout you pick your region, then choose a depot from the list for that region. When your table has arrived at the depot, you get a phone call on the number you gave at checkout, and you go and pick it up.
Freight is a set price per item for your island, the same to every depot on that island, and it is shown at checkout before you pay. Current freight for pool tables, per table:
- Viper and Millstone MDF pool tables: $55 North Island, $65 South Island
- Boston, Vegas and Milano slate pool tables: $175 North Island, $265 South Island
- Stratton 4-in-1 and Marlin combo tables: $55 North Island, $65 South Island

Where Your Table Ships From
We hold stock in two warehouses, one in Auckland and one in Christchurch, and which one your table comes from depends on the table:
- MDF tables (Viper, Millstone) and multi-game tables are stocked on both islands. You choose the North Island or South Island version on the product page. North Island orders ship from Auckland to North Island depots (Mainstream, Hobbs in Auckland and Eastlite in Gisborne). South Island orders ship from Christchurch to South Island depots (Mainfreight, Method Global in Christchurch and Aratuna in Greymouth).
- Slate tables (Boston, Vegas, Milano) ship from Auckland to the whole country with Mainstream. South Island buyers collect from a Mainstream depot, such as Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin, Cromwell, Invercargill, Blenheim, Nelson or Greymouth.
The island version in your cart has to match your region. If your island’s version is out of stock, email us: we may be able to send one from the other island at extra cost.
Lead Times: When Will My Table Arrive?
Delivery to the depot usually takes 2–4 days from the order date, depending on where you are. Small items generally go out on the courier the same or next day. We send you a tracking link once your order leaves us.

Collecting Your Table
MDF tables come in one large package plus a small one, and arrive about 80% assembled. Slate tables come in two crates. What to expect on collection day:
- You’ll get a phone call when your table is ready to collect at the depot
- Everything we sell fits on a standard 8×4 trailer, and the depot staff will load it onto your vehicle for you
- Bring a mate for the unload at the other end
- You’ll need to assemble the table yourself
Assembly Time
Once your table is home, assembly time is roughly:
- MDF tables (Viper, Millstone): bolt the legs on and you’re playing in about half an hour
- Slate tables (Boston, Vegas, Milano): usually two to three hours with a mate
The Viper comes with all the tools you need. Slate tables are designed for DIY setup by anyone with basic handyman skills, and the Boston and Vegas level with a 16-point levelling system.
Slate Pool Table Delivery: Special Notes
Slate pool tables are far heavier than MDF tables. A Boston 8ft weighs about 555kg assembled and a Vegas 8ft about 585kg, and comes in two crates (153 × 82 × 94 cm and 243 × 38 × 39 cm). Keep this in mind:
- Have a mate or two available to help unload and position the crates
- Clear your path from the vehicle to where the table will be assembled
- Measure any doorways or tight corners the crates will need to pass through
Frequently Asked Questions
Is pool table delivery free?
No. Freight is charged per item, by island, and you see the exact amount at checkout before you pay. For a pool table it is $55–$175 to the North Island and $65–$265 to the South Island, depending on the table.
Can you deliver to my house?
Depot collection is the standard service. In Auckland and Christchurch we do deliver to homes and businesses, quoted separately, so email us with your full address for a price. Anywhere else in New Zealand, send us your address and the product you’re after and we’ll work out a price.
Can you deliver to rural addresses?
No, we can’t deliver to rural (RD) addresses. Send us your full address and we’ll work out the nearest depot that suits you.
Do you offer installation?
Our tables are designed for you to assemble yourself, and most people manage with a helper. If you’d like help, get in touch before you order.
What if my table arrives damaged?
Check the packaging when you collect from the depot, and contact us straight away if anything is damaged.
